Lunchtime Lecture am 20.03.2025

No longer limited to aesthetics or problem-solving, design is evolving into a tool for facilitation, sense-making, and transformation. This talk explores how designerly ways of working create impact—not just through solutions, but through the ways we navigate uncertainty, reveal invisible forces, and enable systemic change. Design is shifting from form-making to structure-making—reshaping policies, organizations, and leadership mindsets.
Drawing on case studies from IDEO.org, the United Nations, and the City of New York, we’ll examine:
- How does design function in high-stakes, ambiguous environments?
- What does it mean to lead through experimentation rather than certainty?
- What role do the body, intuition, and somatic experience play in transformation?
Finally, we’ll explore what’s next for design—from somatic intelligence to anticipatory governance—and ask: What if the real power of design isn’t in solving problems, but in reshaping how we see and engage with the world?
